Two and a half months into the show, we get another Wave but at the very end of the episode. I feel like the pace at which the show is going is pretty good. At first, I thought the Waves would be rare things that occur like at very important parts of the show like the mid point and the ending but that they happen every couple episodes makes both more sense and also creates better drama.
In this episode, most of the time is taken up by preparing for the next Wave through Naofumi wanting to class upgrade his party, getting a bunch of random extras to the party, improving the equipment, and doing some side-quests in the capital city. All in all, another relatively laid back and chill episode but due to the nature of it, next episode is sure to be pretty epic.
We are getting to see more and more of the royal family. Aside from Melty, we see more of the Queen and her residence. Seems like we will soon learn the nature of how their society considers itself a matriarchy, hopefully. Aside from that, there are some nice encounters that happened this episode, namely the one between Naofumi and the two other heroes, Bow and Sword Heroes. Naofumi has the chance to give them a piece of his mind about the ruckus they caused. There is also a quick glance at the very end of someone we have seen in the intro but who has not yet been introduced.
The next episode is bound to be good, not only due to the fact we will get another Wave-focused episode, but also the fact that we will have another new character introduced. This one seems to be evil, judging by the smirk she had. I hope the other heroes get their asses handed to them and Naofumi has to save them, but I don’t think that would be good for the story at this point, so I doubt they will do it. Either way, I look forward to seeing how the next Wave plays out and I’ll see you in the next review!
