First off, I want to say that I had no interest in cyclops-themed art before reading this game. It was nowhere near my train of thought. Afterwards, I got a cyclops fetish. Born-with-one-eye females are something that needs to be real in life. Forget the Alpacas, give me a cyclops! Love at First Sight is a kinetic visual novel by Creepy Cute and published by Sekai Project. Dealing with the themes of bullying and love, Love at First Sight brings a strange, yet slightly fulfilling story with a bit of humor on the side. Many thanks to Sekai Project for the review key and the cyclops fetish!

I really wanted to like the art. It was strange, yet consistent. By the end, I did enjoy the art, but to be completely honest, it looked rushed. Proportions were horribly off and some parts of the sprites looked like they were placed over top of the rest of the image, as if drawn separately. While I do like the art, it’s not really that well done, in my eyes.

The music in Love at First Sight was average, but still catchy and easy to listen to while reading. It could get slightly repetitive and annoying if you stayed on certain parts too long, though. The good thing is that you can listen to the soundtrack whenever you want after you finish the game. It is unlocked fully in the extras. If you want to hear the songs over and over, you can.

Unfortunately, it’s really somewhat the story that truly stifles this game. While it is simplistic, the ending feels like it was rushed even worse than the art. There is no true feelings of the story ending on a good note, honestly. I can’t say much without spoiling the story, but simply handing off the problem to another person and not really resolving the issue is a bit of a letdown. Also, due to the fact that it’s a short kinetic visual novel, there’s not much re-playability to it as there simply is not that much to it.

Other than the extreme cyclops fetish, you don’t get much out of Love at First Sight. For the price of $9.99 USD on Steam, the game really doesn’t feel worth full price to me. I’d honestly wait for a sale. [… For the next two days (until the 4th) of the Winter Steam sale, it’s 50% off. Hurry and get it. Cyclops Fetishism commands you. It’s worth it!] However, it is a fun little read and if you really don’t mind cutely-blushing, big-eyed cyclops girls, you need this in your Steam collection.

Lolinia gives Love at First Sight a Drastik Measure 4.7 out of 10.0 (47).
