Attack Heroes is a unique early access game from Ejoy CapHong that is based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story, but puts a unique spin on it. There is plenty of comedy in it that does carry the game to a point. It is an Early Access game so it is not fully complete as of yet. It does provide a unique combat system and animation style as well, however the combat can get tricky if you have trouble timing things right. The story follows Little Mu, Phoenix, and Liu Bei as they fight against the corrupt forces that threaten the kingdom. You meet many different and distinct characters that will join you upon defeat. I believe there is 16 in all that will be available for use after you unlock them.

As I said there, are 16 characters, however you can only use a max of 4 at once in battle. You, being the game, with 3 characters whom are Little Mu, Phoenix, and Liu Bei. As you progress through the story you unlock other characters as you defeat them. Each character has 3 normal skills and 1 kill skill in their arsenal to use in combat. You do have to unlock the skills on some by leveling them up with the gold you earn by completing levels. It addition to unlocking some of the characters to be able to use them, you must collect a certain amount of stars. You get stars by completing levels, however some have multiple win conditions you unlock after beating the stage once.

The graphics are heavily influenced by anime and manga using techniques from both to deliver a notable world. Some music in the game I recognized as vocaloid type music. There is one thing I can say about the music, it is loud for me with headphones on to the point that even with it all but muted I still had to lower it in the sound panel outside the game. There are some issues with localization to English, issues I saw other people had when I was reading comments on Steam, as well as some other minor issues none of which I have ran into. I can say the game as is was very fun for me, and I enjoy playing it. It’s not a game I will play hardcore, but it will be completed and everything unlocked by me. It will be in my rotation of games for some time to come.

Pros
- Unique spin of RTK story
- Good use of anime/manga techniques
Cons
- Music is initially way to loud
- Localization to English issues
BoxCatHero gives Attack Heroes a Drastik Measure of 7 out of 10 (70)
