Last week, I reviewed the first episode of Miss Ueno anime, and I found it to be pretty good but, sadly, not very popular. I’m happy to say that it seems, during the week between episodes 1 and 2, the show has grown in popularity a lot. It’s still mostly not going to hold a candle to some of this season’s very big releases, but, compared to when the first episode aired, it’s currently much more popular. Not only that, the quality was also even better this time around.
While the previous episode had humor based on Ueno wanting Tanaka to do things he’s uncomfortable with, it was mostly due to the idea of the thing not being appealing to him, as in drinking just water which was made from purifying urine or looking up a girl’s skirt. This time, both segments of the show were much more visceral and physical, and it made it even funnier to me.
I swear, this show has some of the best (un)intentional fetish fuel material around. With the first episode about drinking pee and looking up a skirt already being pretty good on that front, this episode just goes all the way, with Tanaka having to smell Ueno’s smelly tights in the first half and then making her ass completely red from all the spanking while she tries to get him to touch her breasts instead in the second half.
The structure is largely the same as the first episode, with the exception of the last episode’s ED being used as an OP and there being a new, proper ED at the end. I plan on taking a closer look at the OP and ED later on, at some point, which is why I will not be talking about it here. The length of the episode is the same as well. I believe that the show has already settled well into its own, with the structure of the second episode being the same as for the rest of the season.
All in all, an even better and deservedly more popular episode than the first. If anything, I just hope that they didn’t peak in terms of either humor or general quality in episode two and that, instead, it will just keep getting better and better.
