BoxHero gives Attractio a Drastik Measure 8.7 out of 10.0 (87).

Attractio is a single-player FPS puzzle platformer from the devs at GameCoder Studios, published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The player controls three different characters who are participating in a reality show by the same name as the game. If they survive the deadly reality show and are the first to make it to the victory chamber, they take home a massive prize.  The characters are as follows: Dalek, who is a prisoner chosen out of many from the penal system to participate, who is going for freedom so he can prove his innocence. Mia, a member of the security force who is after the advanced technology prize to better her hometown. And finally Keir, a  factory worker who is after the big monetary prize.

With the characters introduced, let’s get into game play and other juicy bits. At first look, the game looks like it will play very similar to the portal series, and in some ways that’s true. The puzzles are just as challenging, but other then jumping and movement, all similarities stop there. Keir has a shifter gun which allows him to change the gravity of blocks. Mia has gravity boots which allows her to flip her gravity at will. Dalek gets both of the items, but is also the one with the most deadly puzzles it seems. Other than these tools, each character can pick up blocks and move them, as well as make use of the gravity blocks that alter a block much like the shifter gun, based on where the the block touches the gravity block.

The graphics of the game are absolutely amazing and give you the feel of a massive arena, chock full of puzzles and death. It actually looks like you’re on a space station, and the environments are very vibrant. The music and sound effects paled in comparison to the graphics, but to me they fit for the most part. They weren’t necessarily bad, but I felt more was put into the gameplay and graphics then the music. Another good thing about the game is that it has full controller support, which is honestly better than the keyboard/mouse controls.

In closing, I can say the game definitely fills a hole in the heart of anyone who loves the Portal series. If you are one of the Portal fans this game is definitely for you. Even if you are not a Portal fun but enjoy challenging puzzles, it is a great buy.  So let’s  cover the main points once more, which are, amazing graphics with unique gameplay that is both challenging and deadly, but the music seems substandard when compared to the rest the game.  I would give this game a 10/10 for graphics, 6/10 for music/audio, 10/10 for gameplay, for a combined score of 8.6/10. So I can safely say for the price tag of $19.99 on it is worth the purchase of the game.
