With Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) nearing its close for the year, many great things have been revealed in the past weekend. From VR VNs to Girls…. in glasses, Sekai Project has a lot in store for us in the future, whether we want it or not. At the same time, they’ve been streaming their content this weekend through Periscope. From their panels to their merch, one could follow along with Sekai Project as if they were at AWA. One such screening was that of the game A Magical High School Girl.
A Magical High School Girl is a dungeon-crawling, rougelike type game developed by illuCalab where you play a high school girl who also happens to be a magical girl. With the game in very early alpha, there wasn’t all too much to show off. What truly made me love the game is the spell naming feature. As you move around in game, you find crystals with magic powers. These spells, depending on what you name them, can vary from very weak to overwhelmingly strong. With names ranging from “Tippy Killer” to “Game Crasher” (which actually crashed the game), the player can name a spell anything. In fact, when asking a Sekai Project rep about it, you could even name a spell “Loli Piss” if you so desired.
Sadly, you won’t be hitting monsters with a possible yellow laser beam in this game, this week. While Sekai Project is looking to release the game in Fall, with delayed development, you could be waiting til Winter to get your hands on A Magical High School Girl. The game will be released on Steam sometime in the future. Pricing is currently unknown.
