We are finally here, the last episode. After some 3 months, the final episode of How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno is here. It has certainly been a pretty interesting, funny and horny ride. The last episode was satisfactory, if not incredible, and I don’t really blame it for that. I do think that after 12 episodes, the humor has kind of run its course and quite a few of the gags were starting to be slightly repetitious or a variation on a previous one, but that did not necessarily make the show bad since they would always find a way to make it fun enough. The fact that the episodes were 12 minutes long was a big help to make the episodes not overstay their welcome.

Let me talk a little bit about the final episode. It, as all the other episodes, was split into two skits, and the first one introduces the final character from the opening that we had not yet met – the captain of the gymnastics club. We also get to see what those floating eyeballs from the intro are and, as it turns out, they are linked. The first half wasn’t that great. Out of all the side characters, the one that they introduced in the literal final episode of the show (at least, until there is a season 2 announcement) is the least interesting. Not to say it was dull since I had fun watching it, but maybe if they had introduced her a bit earlier and had her show up a couple more times in other episodes, the character would have been more engaging. This way, she ended up serving as a joke or two at the end of the skit and that was mostly it. I would say that the show in general under-utilized the side characters, as plenty of episodes and specific “experiments” would have been better, had they featured some of them. I suppose I shouldn’t harp on that too much since those were, after all, side characters.

The second half of the episode was noticeably better in terms of both comedy and just how interesting it was. Ueno has come up with an invention which lets people share the taste they are feeling with someone else through holding their hand. One thing she didn’t prepare for was Tanaka holding her hand so they could test out the invention. After babbling due to being embarrassed, she runs off and we get a pretty cool ending scene. Not too much to say about this part, aside from that.

In the end, the show was generally pretty good. Some pretty amazing and funny episodes and skits and others not so much, but it was never outright boring or bad, which I suspect is in large part due to it being a shorter format, normal for this kind of anime. Even though they under-utilized side characters, the ones that were shown in the show were mostly pretty good and cool, which is another reason I would have wanted to see them more often but alas. All in all, I enjoyed the show and I do recommend people watch it if they are interested in a pretty sexual short-form comedy anime like this. Here is hoping to have a season 2 at some point, but for now, I hope to see you in my Shield Hero reviews!
