Youtubers Life is a life-sim tycoon game where you take on the role of a person trying to become a Youtube star. Can you become the next big thing on Youtube?

You will start the game by creating your character from a decent amount of choices. Once you are done, it is then time to get down to making those videos and getting famous.

In Youtubers Life you will manage your life, which isn’t just making videos. You will have to contend with your mom, interacting with friends and going to school. Also, it is a life sim, so food and sleep are something you will have to keep an eye on.

The art is clean and just silly enough that it is fun, while not being outright goofy. From the character design, to the world you interact with, the colors are vibrant but not overly so, which make looking at the same things for extended play easy on the eyes. All around the visuals are pretty good and very cohesive.

So let me go over the first little bit of my experience of the game.

After creating my character (looked as much like myself as it could), I get through the tutorial prompts and get my first video made. Then it’s time to start the game in earnest.

I start by buying Half Lie and making a few gameplay videos and am doing pretty well. The subs are rolling in when suddenly disaster strikes. My PC has gone kaput and needs to be repaired. Pretty lifelike so far in my opinion. After I repair my PC, I’m is hungry. So off to the kitchen I go to have a snack, then head to bed for some sleep.

When I wake up, mom walks into my room and starts yelling at me. Guess that’s what I get for skipping school. Maybe I should buy a new game to make myself feel better about myself. Hm, how about League of Giants? Yup that’s the one I want. Check out and then a few seconds later my game has arrived!

Once my game has arrived, I decide to make a new video out of it. Once I finish the editing process, I hit the publish button. Then it’s time to chat it up with some friends.

After this I realize I’m out of money, so off to work I go. After about a minute real time, I’m thirty bucks richer. Think I will knock out another video before bed.

When I wake up in the morning, I decide to go to school. Arriving home after school, I find that a friend has stopped by. He wants me to to make a video for a new game!

That is pretty much how the early game is; as time goes by and you get more subs, earn more money, get more famous, and then more activities will open up. Things like game conferences and going off to the disco.

To be honest the game does get repetitive and has a learning curve, there are some things you need to figure out that are not covered in the tutorial, but I think that is done for a reason.

I found the game best taken in doses rather than binging. I did find myself coming back to it again and again for that 30-40 minute dose

The controls are good. To walk, click on an object and, if it has one, an options menu will pop up, choose whichever option you want, and your character will begin to walk. While editing your videos you will choose comments or poses and add effects by clicking and dragging things to where you want them.

Audio wise the game is what you would expect. Music is pretty much elevator music and does get very old very fast. I ended up turning it off around an hour in and just playing my own music in the background.

The sound effects are interesting and not annoying enough that you will not be outright muting the game.

Pro

A fun mix of life sim and tycoon game styles

Controls are simple and easy to pick up

Addictive gameplay

Good tycoon

Decent life sim

Con

The music gets old fast

Gameplay can get repetitive fast, best taken in small doses

The learning curve could be a bit steep for those not accustomed to sim and tycoon games

Youtubers Life a great take on the life sim and tycoon genres. With good art and casual but addictive gameplay you will be coming back to it again and again, even if you might get sick of the music. For those looking for a tycoon game I do suggest picking it up.

LumpDizzle666 gives Youtubers Life a Drastik Measure 7 subs out of 10 (70).
